Hunt for Wolverine Crossover Reading Order (2018-2019)
Following Wolverine's death in 2014, Marvel decided to bring him back from the dead in the Hunt for
Wolverine crossover. Headed by Charles Soule with assistance from Tom Taylor, Mariko Tamaki, and Jim
Zub, this event sees Wolverine's allies and enemies split up to try and figure out how he returned.
This reading order covers Hunt for Wolverine, Hunt for Wolverine: Adamantium Agenda, Hunt for Wolverine:
Mystery in Madripoor, Hunt for Wolverine: Claws of a Killer, Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost, Hunt for
Wolverine: Dead Ends, and Return of Wolverine. Prior knowledge of Wolverine's history with the X-Men and
the Avengers, as well as his death, are recommended to get the most out of this storyline.
Quality:★★★☆☆ Cohesion:★★★☆☆ Accessiblity:★☆☆☆☆
- Hunt for Wolverine (2018) #1
- This issue acts a prelude that helps establish the premise and set up the next four miniseries.
- Hunt for Wolverine: Adamantium Agenda (2018) #1-4
- Hunt for Wolverine: Mystery in Madripoor (2018) #1-4
- Hunt for Wolverine: Claws of Killer (2018) #1-4
- Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost (2018) #1-4
- These four miniseries form the bulk of this story arc. They do not crossover, but all build up
pieces of a mystery as to what happened to Wolverine. While you can read them in any order, this
is my recommended. At the very least, Weapon Lost should absolutely be the last miniseries.
- Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends (2018) #1
- This one-shot ties together all of the previous miniseries to reveal the big mystery, leading into
Return of Wolverine.
- Return of Wolverine (2018) #1-5
- The final series in this story arc, which also largely stands on its own and shows the ultimate
return of Wolverine. Admittedly, it doesn't build off of the other series super well, but they
really don't conclude without this one.
